Circa 1950s, 14k, Attributed Italy. This wonderful natural coral necklace is a fabulous 53 inches long. Bold worn as a single strand or town and country chic in two or three layers, the look can be smart, Bohemian, vintage fun, shabby chic, or uptown chic! The color is the lovely deep red-orange often referred to as "Oxblood". The beads are beautifully cut (approximately 4.15mm) nearly perfectly round. Excellent condition.

Additional notes: Today, when coral reefs are protected from harvest for their invaluable ecological role, the trade of old coral represents the best of all worlds. The beauty of this natural stone is recognized, and pieces which had been harvested in the past are lovingly handed down (recycled!). It is a wonderfully green way to wear fashionable organics and to feel good doing it!
