Circa 1875-1890, Edwin J. D. Bodley, England. This rare set of 12 Japanese aesthetic soup bowls in a terrapin motif by Bodley is simply brilliant. The delicate citron-yellow borders are decorated with raised gilded details of turtle's heads, feet, and tails, with the shell pattern impressed into the bowl. Excellent condition.
