Circa 1905, Sterling and 14k gold by Josephine Hartwell Shaw, Boston. A spectacular example of Josephine Hartwell Shaw's work. This gorgeous Arts and Crafts brooch features mixed metals and textures with a sophisticated color palette. At the center of the visual drama is a six-carat pastel blue Sapphire, surrounded by aquamarine and small Montana Sapphires. The large sapphire is no-heat and most likely Ceylon in origin. Excellent condition.
