Inv. #24590
Antique Diamond-set Platinum Studs
SOLD
Circa 1910, Platinum.  Set with two gorgeous .40-carat old cut diamonds (G color SI1 clarity), these antique stud earrings are a rare find. The early mine-cut diamonds have a subtle visual quality, they reflect and refract in a measured manner, casting broad prismatic shafts of light. Converted from a brooch into earings, the hand-made platinum collet mountings feature beaded bezels. Excellent condition.
Remarks from Lawrence Jeffrey: "I love antique diamonds. The chunkier, more open cut stones of the nineteenth century smolder and shimmer."
Condition: Excellent condition.
Weight: 1.40 gr
Stones: .40 carats x 2 = .80 carats total weight of G color, SI1 clarity diamonds
Hallmarks: PLAT on post for platinum, earring backs are 14k
Measurements: 5mm diameter
