Massive Sterling Pumpkin by Fratelli Cacchione
SOLD
Circa 1960-70s, Sterling, by Fratelli Cacchione, Milan, Italy. Known for his fabulous sterling pumpkins, 5th generation Italian silversmith Fratelli Cacchione is easily the most renowned silvermaker of his generation.  Combining old world techniques handed down in his family with modernist and contemporary decorative aesthetics, his firm has produced collections for both Tiffany and Cartier.  Most of the pumpkins Fratelli Cacchione produced are only 6 to 8 inches in diameter, essentially the size of a sugar pumpkin. This one is enormous.  Measuring 15 1/2 inches high, it is the size of a very large jack-o-lantern! Probably one-of-a-kind, this pumpkin is perfect as a centerpiece on a table or as a  decorative accent that will center an entire room. It is superbly fabricated and in excellent condition.
Condition: Excellent condition.
Weight: 107 oz
Hallmarks: Sterling, '.925', for Milan and maker's mark 'FC'.
