Sterling and Crystal Modernist Cocktail Set, Hawkes

Circa 1950-53, by Hawkes, American. Exceptionally rare Hawkes shooting star motif modernist cocktail set. The pitcher has a rare and unusual contemporary form. Hawkes made very little in the postwar modernist idiom before they ceased operations in 1953. Produced in sterling and crystal, it is hallmarked on the bottom.
